Fruit trees

Grow great fruit trees.

What’s the secret to growing great fruit trees? Evergreen or deciduous. Citrus, pipfruit, stonefruit, berries or feijoas. Espalier or freestanding.

Getting it right

Different species and varieties of fruit trees have different requirements and most need pruning to do their best.

Growing fruit successfully comes down to our mantra - right plant, right place, right time. And feed them.

Right tree, right place

If you select the right tree, put it in the right situation and dig a good hole, then you have given it the best chance to thrive. Keep it fed and it will give you its best. Be careful not to overfeed though - that can create problems.

Pruning

Pruning correctly helps. There are different ways to prune depends on the type of tree or shrub and you will want to decide what you are pruning for e.g. fruit production, espalier or general form.

And if your trees get a problem, do not panic. We can help.
